I HIKED MY SKIRT UP around my waist and Carter pulled my panties to the side. He stroked what I could feel was my drenched slit. His lips circled and sucked on my nipples, his tongue flicking the hard and pierced peaks.

“I want to be inside you so bad,” he whispered between strokes of his tongue. “And I love that I can do it uncovered. Feel your heat.”

“Like now.” I panted, my hips rocking against his hand.

Oh man, how I needed this. Faith had explained my hormones were out of control and she gave me permission to share my body with Carter. I hadn’t decided to have sex with him until the moment he met me at the heliport. The confrontation with Seth had shaken Carter up. Meeting the parents was nerve-racking enough, and I wanted to ease his tension.

We hadn’t decided anything official yet. I’d made no promises to him and that put us in a holding pattern. We had to pretend to be a couple to give his parents a chance. Carter hoped to ease my fears that if I let him be a part of my baby’s life, I wouldn’t be overrun by meanies with a bottomless checkbook.

He circled the tips of his fingers over my wet center, teasing me, matching the rhythm of my hips rocking. This damn man knew my body so well. How did that happen?

“Let it go, baby,” he said. “You’re so wet.”

In a scorching rush, I shuddered and whimpered against his neck. The climax sizzled down my spine. Warmth spread through me, capturing me.

I gave a heavy sigh, falling back into reality. “I haven’t made up my mind about what I want as far as us or the baby, Carter. I have to see how this weekend goes.”

“I know, Lil,” he said, his fingers circling my still sensitive nipples as he helped me down from my high. “I spent this past week thinking, too. If this goes badly, I have to reevaluate the relationship with my parents.”

My heart pounded. “Carter, if your mother only has a short amount of time left, I won’t let you miss those months with her.”

I had already braced myself for the inevitability that his family wouldn’t approve of me. It would break my heart to watch Carter get blindsided, though.

I asked Carter to keep the baby a secret because I didn’t want his parents’ approval by force. Would he use the baby as leverage to make his parents play nice?

Wild thoughts flashed in my brain. Had Carter just tipped his hand? If his parents hated me and forced him to make such a gut-wrenching choice, I may never see him again. Was I working against my own self-interest by agreeing that the baby remain a secret?

Carter laid his head in the center of my chest. I’d almost forgotten we were in a moving limo. The tip of his nose felt so nice and cool against the heated swell of my breasts.

“Do you have a plan for the worst-case scenario?” I asked him.
